News of the PROTEVS-GIB 2020 campaign

The R/V L’Atalante has begun to sample the Strait of Gibraltar. In particular, a Moving Vessel Profiler MVP has been deployed, in order to perform hydrological measurements at a spatial resolution of 1 km. Indeed, the MVP is a towed vehicle, equipped with Conductivity, Temperature and   Depth   (CTD)   sensors.   It   is   able   to   measure   parameters   (temperature,   salinity   (fromconductivity), density and pressure) in the water column (from surface to approximately 300 m), at a vessel speed of 4-6 knots.
